Vance Zachary, M.D., owner and founder of Photoworks by Zachary, has a passion for wedding photography. He loves capturing the personalities, the loving relationships, the beauty, the emotions, and even the unpredictable moments that are all part of a wedding story.

Instead of the predictable cookie-cutter sequences and mostly staged images that characterize some wedding work, Vance prefers the "storybook" concept of capturing the wedding where the photographer uses a mix of creative artistic portraiture and fun, natural journalism to actually create a work of art that will capture the spirit of the event - the tears, the joy, and the laughter.

Vance believes that the wedding photographer's mission is to seek out what’s special about each wedding and to minimize the photographer’s intrusion on the natural flow of the day’s festivities.

Each of Vance’s wedding albums is a custom creation. This is because Vance gets to know his clients by including both engagement and bridal sessions in all of his coverages. Vance also requires an extensive planning session two weeks prior to the ceremony. The result is that he shows up at the wedding as friend and confidant of the bride and groom. He understands each particular couple’s likes and dislikes. He is prepared to show what makes Sue’s wedding different from Martha’s.

Vance is the sole photographer at the studio so there is no worry about use of other subcontracted photographers. Vance photographs only 20 or less weddings a year but puts his heart and soul into each one he does.

Vance is a Certified Professional Photographer and a Master of Photography—degrees earned from the Professional Photographer of America. Vance strives to a higher standard. He regularly puts his work before the critical eyes of his peers. His bridal and wedding work consistently receive the acclaim of other working professionals. Among his awards are "Best Wedding Album" in Texas, "Best Wedding Photograph" in the Southwest, and the "Fuji Masterpiece Award" for weddings.
